CHRIST IS THE ANSWER
What is the Question?
It feels today like humanity is teetering on the edge of a great chasm between technology and faith. In just over thirty years, the Internet, which once promised to be a beneficial tool for easy access to knowledge and learning, has in large become the major source of entertainment and diversion in the world. Today Internet use for many has become a necessity in daily life.
Clearly social media and online gaming can be an irresistible and addictive habit for a large part of society. As addictions go, I don’t think there is any drug out there that can compete with the Internet for it’s potential to enslave and create dependency.
One major impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on society is that our dependency on technology increased substantially by our being compelled or forced to stay at home to avoid physical contact with others.
A study published in Psychiatry International found that more than half the adults in the US are currently either at risk of addiction or are already severely addicted to the internet.
Enquiring minds want to know and there is no other buffet that serves up the food they desire with as many available options as the Internet and a regular diet of social media. Those who run the machine have fully embraced this practice, starting with children fresh out of the womb and creating a system of entrapment that will follow a person from the cradle to the grave.
As with most things, money and power is the driving force for those who run the show. But it becomes more and more clear that they are also driven by an agenda that permeates today’s liberal philosophy. That agenda stands in stark contrast to Biblical teaching and their efforts to convince this current generation of the uselessness of such beliefs and practices is gaining more ground every year in our institutions of education and media saturation.
Just as the industrial giants and banking enterprises of the late 19th and early 20th centuries grabbed control of the top tier of finance and power in the world, today’s Tech Titans have taken that to another level altogether. Their wealth comes not from the creation and sale of physical products alone, but from the profits they amass from feeding the cravings and addictions of our technology hungry world today.
Their ability to own the minds and wallets of their customers by delivering their favorite hi-tech drugs on a regular and ever-increasing basis is not far from what opiod dealers do to enrich themselves on the slavery of their clients.
Paul the Apostle warned us of these things in his Epistle to the Ephesians, declaring to the early Christians that their former bondage and disobedience was due to the influence of “the Prince of the Power of the Air.”
I believe that this is a reference to the fallen angel Lucifer who was cast out of Heaven and became the adversary we now know as Satan.
In Revelation 12:12 we read:
“Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”
From my point of view the “Power of the Air” is electromagnetism and this is the power that all of modern media, including all digital communications, all on-air and satellite transmissions, and all media including the World Wide Web function in.
If I am right, this is Satan’s realm as the “Prince of the Power of the Air” and he is having a heyday right now as a last ditch effort because “he knows that he has but a short time” before the Lord Jesus returns to end his evil reign here on earth and deliver the Creation from the bondage of corruption forever.
Hence the title of this article: CHRIST IS THE ANSWER.”
Revelation 12:11 tells us how it will all end in great victory:
“And they (the Church) overcame him (the Devil) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
Take this to heart as God’s message of Hope to you as a believer in Christ. If you are not already a believer, bow your head now and ask Christ to come into your life and free you from the bondage of sin. Repent of living your life by your ownwill and way and surrender to the One who loves you and died on the Cross to make a place for you in the Eternal Kingdom of God.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
