Although it has already been over 4 months since I had my heart failure experience, it has taken this long to figure out what course of action we are going to take to find a remedy and, hopefully, keep me breathing. Jolyn and I so appreciate the prayers and concerns many of you have expressed on our behalf (and I say “our” behalf because one never goes through something like this alone. Without Jolyn bringing her gifts to bear on the situation I would probably have already gone to see my Maker.
Some of you may already know that I was in a double-blind study in Clearwater that was geared to try to repair my heart using stem cells that would come from my own bone marrow and then be applied to the damaged areas of my heart. Since it was a double-blind study, only half of the participants would receive stem cells and the other half would get a placebo. It would be two years before I could find out which one I received so the more we looked into it, at my current age of 76, it seemed like more of a ‘maybe’ possibility than a solid solution.
So now what? During these past four months we have been looking into other possible remedies, keeping in mind that we still liked the idea of utilizing stem cell therapy. In the process we found out that there is already a lot of stem cell therapy being successfully utilized for various medical situations in countries like Germany, Israel, the Cayman Islands, and Mexico. Though it is mostly for sports injuries and other orthopedic situations in America, other countries have had substantial success using stem cell therapy for various ailments and diseases, including heart disease.
With that in mind we began trying to see if such things were being done in America and, lo and behold, they are. Not wanting to have a pacemaker and defibrillator put into my body, I have opted for going in another direction:
On the 18th of this month I will be having a procedure where 15 trillion Exosomes will be intravenously injected into my vein where they will go to work on the process of regenerating the tissue of my entire body, including my heart muscle, looking to restore any inflamed areas of my heart and hopefully make it ‘young’ again. They will then repeat that process twice more over the next several weeks in the hopes that this will work to regenerate my heart back to good health.
I don’t want to try to explain it all so I have attached a link to an interesting article in the above paragraph from the ‘National Library of Medicine’ that should do much better at that than I can. If you are interested for your own understanding, let me know and I will send you some more research articles I have found that may help you.
Please pray for me if you would as I am definitely entering into a new stage in this fight against my heart failure. Thanks in advance and God bless.
Craig
